Origins Urethane Olympic Bumper Plates are a fantastic addition to any free weight environment and have been specifically designed to work with the Olympic Barbells. Using high quality Urethane materials these bumper plates have increased durability longevity, and hardness compared to traditional rubber bumper plates making them a no brainer for anyone involved in strength training, Olympic lifting, or Powerlifting.
Urethane based free weight equipment is fast becoming the norm in many premium fitness facilities. Rubber may be cheaper – but the advantages of urethane far outweigh this single benefit. Not to mention the bold urethane colours will brighten up any gym area, large or small. Each bumper plate has a 450mm diameter meaning that impacts are spread throughout the plate and allows them to be easily racked/stored. This also makes them great for Olympic style lifting involving overhead dropping.
The urethane material takes colour much better than rubber and will continue to brighten up your gym long after the rubber equivalents have faded. The plates are available in 5kg (black), 10kg (green), 15kg (yellow), 20kg (blue), 25kg (red). The 5kg bumper should not be dropped in isolation and only used in tandem with other weights to avoid bending.
